Mimaki Presented Two EDP Awards

Mimaki Engineering, a manufacturer of wide format inkjet printers and cutting machines, including the Mimaki JV3, was recently awarded two EDP Awards at the 2009 competition for the best products of the year. The first award was presented for the UJV-160 UV LED curing large format printer, while the second was for the TPC-1000, a printer cutter for apparel printing.

Of the awards, Managing Director of Mimaki Europe, Sakae Sagane said in a press release, “We feel very honored that our forward-looking products have been selected not only once but twice by the EDP Association. This asserts us that Mimaki’s innovative products are at the forefront of technology development and help our customers to fulfill their daily chores to their best abilities and utmost productivity while achieving superb quality to satisfy their customer’s demands.”

Both machines offer cutting-edge features. For example, the UJV-160 is a hybrid machine that features a new rigid media feeding function that can work with media up to 12 kg. This model features ink that is expandable, which means that it will not crack during certain creative processes. The TPC-1000, the apparel printer cutter, can utilize two types of inks for apparel printing–solvent ink and dye sublimation ink. Solvent ink can be used for printing on heat transfer substrates, such as printing numbers, team names, and sportswear brand names. The company offers hardware, software, and accessories, such as ink, cutting blade, and drive belt options.
