Any new believer that has been accepted into the fold is indeed a new creation in Christ, according to Paul the apostle in his second letter to the believers in Corinthians. And in being created anew, the desire to live in the way God wants you to live (holiness) becomes the most important thing.
And no matter whether you are an experienced or new believer, one more thing is certain: there will be teachings (for example, the 5 points of Calvinism) that will only lead you astray from being in the center of God’s will. Paying heed to these teachings can only mean trouble if you are serious about remaining ‘saved’ and very often these teachings surround the topic of eternal security which isn’t the way the Bible treats the subject of salvation.
Living in God’s will is an everyday struggle, and in being “in the world but of the world”, the obstacles that you will come up against will be many but the truth is that the ‘prize’ that awaits you will be worth every stand that you make for righteousness.
The only way by which you will know whether or not you are doing what God wants you to do is to read His Word daily. In understanding these powerful words, you will understand what is right and wrong apart from the choices that lie before you. This will make you a better Christian apart from fellowshipping with other believers as well.
Yet another form of false teachings can be found in the form of the Jehovah’s witnesses beliefs, and very often, you will find that these beliefs are contradictory to the Word of God, which you will be able to find when you read the tracts or attend meetings that they gather in.
All in all, being a new creature in Christ has both its challenges and struggles but like Paul reminded his believers, keeping the faith no matter what the cost will win you a crown that last forever.
